Agility
On Boxing Day 2004, the Tsunami hit South East Asia. At that time London Web was hosting a small website for The DEC but when this catastrophe occurred and the DEC became the prime organisation to collect donations for the victims of the disaster, it called for an extraordinary effort from our team. All festivities were put on hold and our dedicated technical team worked quickly and tirelessly over the holiday period to streamline the website code, upgrade the hosting and server infrastructure for the DEC website. It was imperative that no matter how much traffic it received the site would cope, and cope it did, staying online to achieve a world record in taking the largest amount of online donations in a 24 hour period with no downtime.
Reliability
Since 2003, London Web has been providing Papa John’s with e-commerce web server hosting, resilient infrastructure and bandwidth. Our services have enabled Papa John’s to grow their online Pizza business in the UK to £21 Million in 2012/13. Our flexible solution allows for the provision of new servers to cope with capacity and traffic growth through events like the Olympics and European football championships in 2012.
Security
In March 2009, Connecting for Health migrated 1.2 million users to a new Microsoft Exchange based Cloud Email system without Blackberry Server support. London Web, as the UK exclusive distributor of Notify Technology, was able to provide an ActiveSync app “NotifySync” for BlackBerry devices to enable them to be able to access to NHSmail. This solution is now being used by thousands of NHS staff throughout the UK supported directly by the London Web technical team.
Innovation
Following a successful pilot project of 20 sites, London Web was chosen after testing against two other internet service providers, including the UK’s largest, to provide internet connectivity solutions for the Amazon Delivery Locker project rolled out in 2012 to nearly 300 locations all over Britain. London Web was able to offer a combination of 3G and DSL connectivity, installation, monitoring and support with fast response and project management to deliver the highest service levels to meet Amazon’s required timescales and needs.
Integrity
In 1997, London Web developed a new application in a Coldfusion based content management system, which enabled KPMG UK to publish Press Releases under their control and to improve their costs and responsiveness. Since then London Web has continued to host their UK websites and web clusters within the Telehouse Datacentre in Docklands, providing them with resilient hosting and technical support. Importantly, in a sector where security is of prime importance, we are protecting their servers and advising KPMG on security matters relating to ongoing Internet attacks
